Homegirl Media began as a magazine that celebrated the beauty, brilliance, and accomplishments of teen girls of color. Founder Arcynta Childs was frustrated with how their stories were either ignored or sensationalized by most media companies, so she created a space where the stories and lives of real girls took center stage. Expanding her vision to also include black women whose stories are often overlooked, Homegirl Media celebrates how Black women who are changing the communities that raised them - giving other women & girls what they once needed. These are the stories of sisterhood & the bonds that connect us.
